Film: Film: When the Grass Beneath Our Feet Gives an Ancient Scent , जब हमारे पैरों तले की घास कोई प्राचीन गंध देती है
Duration: 7 mins 22 secs Year: 2026
Beni is a shared space that belongs to no one, and therefore, in a way, belongs to everyone. A space between agricultural fields and private lands, it is neither cultivated nor entirely claimed. Plants grow there without being planted; things appear, disappear, and return. It can be entered, crossed, used, or simply left alone. There are no fixed boundaries to what may emerge from it. Beni holds what is allowed to grow on its own.A solitary figure moves through Beni, searching for stones. One by one, the stones are found, picked up, and inscribed. The film unfolds through a quiet, poetic sequence of finding, marking, witnessing, remembering, and burying. What is written on the stones does not remain visible; what is marked is eventually returned to the earth. The act of burying becomes an uncertain gesture between preserving something and allowing it to disappear leaving the landscape to hold what the figure can no longer carry.
