Title: ‘Looking Through Tibhara’ - Notes on living without histories, Photobook, Year: 2022 - 2024
This work 'Looking through Tibhara' Tibhara is a shelter spaces used for resting and waiting, characterized by openness from the front and enclosure on three sides. Recent developments and industrialisation in my region made every house enclosed from all sides, bringing a sense of security and stability, alleviating the once prevalent fear of wild animals such as wolves, snakes, and leopards which once used to be around in my native region, in my childhood I often heard narrative about them, now all has gone. Despite the domesticated nature of life where we are in isolation from other forms of life, the fears of them is now replaced in the form of economic instability, unfulfilled desires, and of being left behind. The photos are captured at my grandparents' house, where I spent my childhood, the photos convey a sense of loss and grief, infused with idioms from my native language, Ahirvati, poems written by me and some narratives of human and wild species encounter.
